The 2024 Pacific Labour Mobility Annual Meeting (PLMAM) was hosted by the Government of Australia in Brisbane, from the 11th to the 24th of November.
The PLMAM is provided in the PACER Plus Arrangement on Labour Mobility as a mechanism to advance regional labour mobility cooperation. The theme for PLMAM 2024 was "Collectively Building Resilience", raising the importance of regional cooperation to build the resilience of labour mobility in the Pacific. Framed by this theme, the four-day PLMAM programme provided opportunities for deliberation by key labour mobility stakeholders on tangible measures to build the resilience of Pacific labour mobility schemes; as well as closely following progress, challenges and solutions to labour mobility in the Pacific Region.
Solomon Islands will be hosting the next PLMAM in 2025.
