From the Solomon Islands High Commissioner to New Zealand - H.E. Ishmael Mali Avui (MBE):-

I convey my deepest sympathies to Sir Dr. Nathan Kere, to their children, family, as well as to friends, colleagues, and all who mourn the passing of Lady Joy Finioa Kere. 

Lady Joy Kere was the inaugural High Commissioner for the Solomon Islands High Commission in Wellington, heading the Mission from its establishment in 2014 to the completion of her tour of duty in 2020. Lady Kere was a distinguished diplomat who played a pivotal role in strengthening relations between Solomon Islands and New Zealand. Lady Kere laid the foundation for an enduring diplomatic presence and was a respected figurehead for the wider Solomon islands communities in New Zealand. 

At this time of loss, my thoughts and prayers are with Sir Dr. Nathan Kere and family. May they find peace and comfort in the outpouring of respect, gratitude and remembrance of Lady Kere’s service and legacy.
