His Excellency Eliam Tangirongo has completed his assignment as Solomon Islands High Commissioner to New Zealand, leaving Wellington for the Solomons on the 24th of January.
His Excellency served a term of three years in Wellington, from 2022 toward the end of 2024.
Prior to his appointment in New Zealand, His Excellency was Solomon Islands' former High Commissioner to Britain.
Before both of his diplomatic postings, His Excellency served as Chairman of the Solomon Islands Public Service Commission. As a widely experienced Public Servant, His Excellency headed a number of Government Ministries as Permanent Secretary and Deputy Secretary, as well as being the Provincial Secretary for the Guadalcanal Provincial Government.
Additionally, His Excellency was Chair for the Guadalcanal Plains Resource Development Company Limited, which provides safeguards and security for landowners and allow them to benefit from development on their land.
The High Commissioner is married with six children and plenty of grandchildren.
