Solomon Islands High Commissioner to New Zealand, His Excellency Ishmael Avui, paid a call on New Zealand Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Christopher Luxon on Friday 13th June, at the New Zealand Parliament. His Excellency presented his Letter of Introduction from Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele during the call.
Prime Minister Luxon and High Commissioner Avui discussed priorities for Solomon Islands-New Zealand development cooperation, and ongoing programmes funded by the Government of New Zealand. The High Commissioner thanked the Prime Minister for New Zealand’s support across a wide-range of sectors, all of which are contributing to Solomon Islands’ economic and social development.
His Excellency also presented a Letter of Recall for his predecessor, the former Solomon Islands High Commissioner to New Zealand, Eliam Tangirongo.
His Excellency Avui will be formally welcomed at the Government House at a later date, but is now fully engaged in his function as High Commissioner following his presentation to the New Zealand Prime Minister.
